Yeah, you might want to change the font. I use dafont.com to download some cool free fonts, if you're interested.

That room is amazing! My first thought when I saw it was XCOM meets Resident Evil. Which would actually be awesome...
Also, I've found that good-looking pixel art is extremely reliant on a good palette. The best thing I did was read up on colour theory a lot. From that room I'd say you've got that down though!

Naw. That's just me guessing and going off of other people's palettes. I could definitely read up on color theory, especially once I start piling in all the details. There's so much that's implied by colors when you're working in those small bits and pieces, and I can't do any of that at the moment. At least not without copying someone else's work pixel by pixel.
As for the room, I think it's still a little plain. It's got a cool early 90's VGA thing going on with it, though.

Renz, where's the goat!

I honestly prefer the minimal type of pixel art in your room to that example you put up Renz. Sometimes it just gets too fussy.
Renzatic on 7/4/2014 at 16:54
That's the thing. I like fussy details crammed in all over the place. The more I'm able to add, the happier I'll end up being. Though I do realize that too much detail just becomes visual noise after a certain point. I gotta find that happy medium, where I'm able to add just enough, without throwing in too much.
And the goat? The goat is coming.

Looking good, Renz.
BTW, what was the name of that iPad PixelArt app again? Sure you mentioned one but I'll be damned if I can find the post.
