For real tho.
Also the past 2 months have been pure hell. Trying to coordinate 3 (scratch that, FOUR) platforms to be ready at the same, 8 different languages, US marketing strategy, Japan marketing strategy, new trailer video, reviewing/negotiating business deals/offers, day 1 patch, dealing with last-minute fires like discovering the game can randomly crash 2 days before submitting to one platform, only to learn your fix also breaks another platform, being told "oh btw you also need to do X" AFTER everything been approved and you thought you were done........
Then you email 200+ different gaming news sites and only 2 small ones run a story about your game LULZ
I hope in the end it's going to be worth it, but FML if it hasn't been a constant stress-crunch-mode for me towards the finish line.
I should write a postmortem or something @_@

Good god, this is the kinda stuff that makes you wonder if having a publisher would be a good idea after all. I'd love to read your post-mortem.

This makes me feel better about not getting any Stilt Fella coverage from the 20-30 sites I mailed. Clearly I wasn't even TRYING.

That's a big reason I worked with a publishers previously, heh. This time I wanted to do things in-house for various reasons. As stressful as it, I actually like the biz-dev and marketing side of things and don't necessarily feel I would've done better with a publisher (if having worked with 3 publishers on my previous games is any indication). So kind of wanted to give it a solo try.
Part of the stress is also self-inflicted as I'm just trying to "do everything perfectly" from the start and realizing maybe I should've been winging it more like on Headliner after all. I mean, there is no reason we HAVE to release in April, it's just a feasible date I picked and wanted to stick to no matter what since I'm a perfectionist.
(
All in all, everything is actually lining up exactly how I planned it out, even with last minute fires)

Yeaaappppp, had the same experience on Headliners as well, none of its success was courtesy of any press. Stilt Fella seems to be doing pretty great on its own as well, so whatever you're doing seems to be working just fine :D
edit: now we just need to combine resources. Cloud Fella? STILTLINER? The potential is limitless!!

Multiplayer asymmetric competitive game where one person plays cloudy and a bunch of stilt players try to rush past.

Rain On My Stilt Fella!
Stilt Fella doing well was all thanks to the streamers, and I'm very happy with the way it did. Not complaining. Still, I wouldn't mind the adoration of the press!

Very Thiefy, Owl! :thumb:
Oddly, Rain on your Parade will be the first game to put my new graphics card to the test. It chugged a bit on my previous, eight-year-old one. The card was intended for Serious Sam 4, but that one didn't come out on Linux.
