Looks nice! Except for the smiley faces, which are a bit muddy. Perhaps because of scaling up and being slightly rotated?

Thanks nicked. Do you have a gamepad btw? I'm gonna want you beta testing this thing once I have it in a more playable stage. I have no idea how to make it playable with mouse and keyboard, but I remember you had good ideas for M+KB support in Stilt Fella, so I'd love to hear your thoughts. :)
VA, no palm thrusters planned, but I will have the character using his arms to automatically counter balance the backwards/forwards rotation.

Haha, man now if you could put that in GTA esque environment, hilarity ensues ;p are you planning to add hands and will they have jets too? I'm guessing no as that'd prolly be an overkill. But you should add them just flailing around, increase the hilarity factor.
