Who was it mentioned The Blood Brothers? Because I'm listening to their new(ish) single at the moment (Set Fire To The Face On Fire) and it's incredible. I havent heard indie this heavy since DFA split up. Book me in for the london show in january, anyone else going to go?

right now I am listening to this album:
(
http://www.kleptones.com/pages/downloads_24h.html) Kleptones - 24 Hours
It is quite good actually, part of this newfangled mashup/bastard pop fad which I usually do not like but this is a bit different. it has an enormous range of sources, including films and TV shows, and is more of a 'concept' album based around a typical 24 hour period in the life of Joe Bloggs (or Joe Blow, John Citizen, John Doe, what have you). like I said I am not usually a fan of mashups but this is very professionally done and most importantly draws from some very good sources (none of this 50 cent rubbish). I like it because it ties all the elements into a constructed and premeditated whole, instead of just being 'hurrr these 2 unrelated songs have the same time tempo i will splice them together in garageband lol'.
edit: for an idea of what sort of thing you're in for see (

Fountains of Wayne, "I Want an Alien for Christmas" and the Kinks "Father Christmas" as a follow-up.

As I wait for the bonus tracks from the last Common album to magically appear near me, I'm listening to Jamie Cullum's "Why Do Today What You Can Do Tomorrow?".
It's not exactly great. It isn't horrible either. I like his more uptempo material much better.

You're the second person to suggest this band, so I tracked down some of their stuff. Oof.
The music is not bad, but the vocalists are nails-on-a-chalkboard awful. Their singing sounds like puberty and their screaming sounds like pain.
I've come too far to spend my time listening to Beavis being anally violated.
