Hmm. No campaign until $1m, no PVP until $2.5m. Not sure HBS can pull $2.5m, which is a shame.
lol. Have you not watched any of their Shadowrun kickstarters?
Lol, why yes I have, but have
you?Shadowrun Returns, $1.8m
Golem Arcana, $0.5m
Shadowrun: Hong Kong, $1.2m
Battletech: $0.9m and climbing
So, $1m is obvously no problem, $2.5m is more than they've ever pulled. Maybe they'll get it; I would actually say at this point that they'll
probably get it, but not by much. But I'll stand by saying I'm not
sure they'll get it.

I'm hoping for expanded campaign to be achieved for Battletech, but am happy that we've at least achieved the basic campaign stretch goal.
I don't give two shits about PVP. Don't get wrong, it's nice to have the option, but frankly I'll probably never touch it.

A (
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/613356213/friday-the-13th-the-game) Friday the 13th kickstarter has started up, with many of the people behind the film series onboard (eg Tom Savini, Sean S. Cunningham, Kane Hodder etc). Only negative for me is that it's a multiplayer only game. With the stretch goals being hidden for now, I'll just hope that there's a singleplayer mode in there somewhere.
It's from the developer of Breach & Clear, if that catches anybody's attention.
Anyway what struck me about this Kickstarter is apparently they ALREADY HAVE a working prototype of the game that's reportedly fun to play (as mentioned in the pitch video), but they have YET to show it PUBLICLY. This isn't 2012 any more, it's gonna be an up-hill battle to fund a Kickstarter based on promises, concept art and brand nostalgia.

Really niche concept here. (

I only stumbled into it because I was checking out a Mount and Blade: Warband mod called North and South that goes for the same experience. I think it'll be the same crowd backing this. Because the rifles are single shot and reload times come in tens of seconds, most of the fun in the teamwork is lining up in teams and coordinating volleys of fire, and then attaching bayonets when things get personal.
It looks like great fun to me, but I'm not sure if I believe in the team making it. They're only asking for £70,000 and want to use that to hire a programmer. They haven't declared any additional funding, and they don't really go into their professional backgrounds besides mentioning how passionate they are. They don't have working netcode, which makes it possible that backers might get hit with a game that can only handle low player counts.
I'm sitting on it.

They lost me at the south fighting for state rights - a notion they invented AFTER the war. Before the war, they were all for the Feds overriding state laws about escaped slaves...

Battletech's now nearly 2.1 mil funded with 7 days to go. Whether it'll reach the 2.5 mil PvP goal only time will tell.
Do Kickstarters still usually get 1/3 of their funding in the last few days? If so, their odds are very good.

There's usually a significant bump near the end of a campaign. I haven't done the math, because effort, but they should stand a decent chance of getting stage 4 funding by the time it wraps up.

One of the games I'm kicking is getting close to release, here's the launch trailer.
