It could very well be your 3/4ths of the way asleep brain interpreting a vibration as something else. Who knows. Whatever it is, the end result is a loud noise that'll scare the shit out of you if you're not used to it.

Ahh, old age. I'm already considering getting a set of falsies and some hair plugs. I don't need them yet, but hell...might as well try and beat the rush.

Rebuilding my main computer and two backup systems. Upgraded the CPU and added a 1 Tbyte Sata to the 6 IDE HDD already on board.
I'm having trouble with the sound card. For some reason the PCI slots don't seem to want to make full contact with it.
If push comes to shove, I'll just use the on-board chip, but I really like the breakout panel on the Audigy.
I may just go for the Xtreme Pro, but only if I can't get the board to accept the current card.

Ive suddenly realised that I need to start packing for the Bloodstock festival this weekend.
Given that its being held in a field near Birmingham in the middle of August - I guess I should pack several umbrellas...
