Zelda TotK
Fast Fusion
Have a lot of other Switch 2 games incoming, its a nice shift of pacing, or maybe just feel, from PC gaming.

Been feeling like some mindless shooting lately, so picked up (
https://store.steampowered.com/app/2319390/Kvark/) Kvark , but decided to put it down after an hour. It has a good vibe and nice visuals but it's... not fun. The guns lack punch, the enemies are kinda spongy, dumb, and repetitive, and I feel like I'm just running through a series of identical-looking rooms.
So I switched to (
https://store.steampowered.com/app/824600/HROT/) HROT instead and having a much better time. It nails the spooky soviet atmosphere but shooting and gameplay has the satisfying boomer shooter quality to it. The one complaint I have is that the level design feels unnecessarily maze-y. You flip a switch, then you hunt for some random trap-door that opened in the floor in adjacent room, then you find a key and try one of the the 3 locked doors to see which one it opens because they are all brown, etc. It just doesn't really make any logical sense and ends up slowing gameplay while you hunt for the next place to go to. Oh and there's also barely any health drops, I've found myself save-scumming, otherwise I'm basically playing at like 20 health most of the level.

Also I'm playing Tomb Raider 4 remastered, kinda of stuck in flames right now, so I'm going to have to use a savegame editor, as my reflexes and my ability to control this game on a laptop keyboard is next to a stand still, it worked better on a huge keyboard for me.
I can't make it in time to get to the water pool down below.

Played a couple recent indie games.
Hypogea - 3rd person platformer where you're a robot exploring desolate megastructures. Very Lorn's Lure-ish. Short ~2h story. It looks and plays alright, the story is very minimalist and not much to write home about. It's ok.
Desert Race Adventures - the Dakar Rally but it's a turn based management game. Very minimalist, feels like it could be a UFO 50 game (complimentary). After a couple game overs I was able to figure out a winning strategy and beat the game within an hour. After that I guess the only incentive to keep playing is to try to climb the leaderboard? Eh, I'll give it a few more go's just because it's a nice chill thing to play while listening to a podcast. It's not a great game or anything, but I did enjoy it more than the quite similar Keep Driving.

I was hoping for either more narrative development or more platforming complexity from Hypogea but it was still alright. A pleasant distraction and I enjoyed the look of it.
I've done my first play through Thrasher, an initially VR-only sort-of-follow-up to Thumper by Brian Gibson and Mike Mandel. The visuals are as psychedelic as ever, the soundtrack is great, dynamic and violent just like their previous game but Thrasher is not a rhythm game this time, instead it's an advanced snake game where you need very fast reflexes to avoid lasers and break crystals flying around the screen. Addictive and works well on Steam Deck, but I think I probably played it in the worst way possible using the stick. I'm sure it's better with a mouse and best in VR. Will try those for my future runs.

I was playing the Italian version of Fallout New Vegas, so far I only played the English version, instead of Ranger they call them "Mercenary" which is not correct, instead of Wasteland "contaminated zone".
And the names for weapons is mostly the same, the trash can is "can of the swept dust"..
Unreal translation man, uncanny to say the most.
I fear to try the Spanish version at all, if ever I am gonna do it.

"can of the swept dust" Naive translation of "dustbin", I assume?
DuatDweller on 22/11/2025 at 19:52
Should've been "Cestino dei rifiuti" but instead they put a mouthful long ass couple of words.
Trash bin, trash can whatever is called in the original game.

That looks rad.
