Ok maybe someone can explain this to me. I may not be paying attention to the game much, but I am wondering exactly what are the Daedra. I finally figured out the Dwemer/Dwarves so I don't feel too dumb, but I still don't get what the Daedra are and why they are so hostile.

Demons.

They are all the monsters you fight like Dremora, Deadroths, Scamps, Clanfear, if you can summon it up through necromancy its a Deadra.

Not necromancy, necromancy creates undead (eg. bonewalkers, ancestral ghosts, etc.)
Some conjuration magic summons daedra, some summons undead. But yeah, daedra are basically demonic... most commonly scamps and dremora, it seems... note that atronachs are also treated as daedra.. I think that's new, cause in Daggerfall they were sorta like golems created by various sorcerers... or so my faulty memory would have me believe.
There's actually a pretty decent book in-game about the various daedra, which daedra prince they're associated with, etc.
That, of course, is if you have the patience to read Morrowind books... and if you don't, shame on you! *grin*

The Daedra used to be friends with the dunmer on Morrowind, but they were only using them like Vivec and Azura. Then when some catyclismic event happened, some daedra became evil and some stayed good... All in all they died cause I flipped out and choped off their heads.

In case someone missed it, atronarchs are neither good or bad. They just take a side in any situation and have some fun. :p
Of course, the definition of fun might change when Mr. Axe connects with their groin.

ehh, I always figured the atronachs were summoned/animated forms of their elemental selves... and yes, they are not having fun when my axe cleaves their head.

Well, I always considered daedra(dremoras, scamps, etc) to be demons that have been summoned from a another plane(hell or something like that) and the major daedra are somewhat like gods(azura...morag bal) Most of the daedra you run into are summoned by worshippers or wizards, the big statues in shrines are likenesses of the major Daedra...I've heard that some of the statues will talk to you, never done that though.

I think the Daedra's are basically any gods, good or bad. Azura (I believe) is a good god, while there's other shrines around to bad ones... can't remember any names though. Dremora, Scamps, Daedroths and Golden Saints are all lesser Daedras, which you can whoop. Vivec is something entirely different, read a few books or play more main plot to find out about him.

The theology of Tamriel really isn't as simple as all that. For 'gods' you have Aedra (Julianos, Stendarr, etc.) and Daedra (Azura, Mehrunes Dagon, and so on). Neither class is really "good" or "evil" per se, but Daedra have more of a tendency to do bad things to their servants. In addition you have demi-gods of various stripe hanging around, notably Vivec, Sotha Sil, Almalexia, and the god-emperor Tiber Septim.
