What are Dreughs? - TTLG Forums

Hello, this is one of my first posts.. :)
Now, what on earth are Dreughs?? I have obviously encountered them during gameplay.. But are they Daedra, Mer, or any other being told about during the game? I just saw a screenshot of one up close, and it looks like a person just wearing Dreugh armour! :weird:

Somewhere on the other sites (check the links in my reply to you in the hints and spoilers section) I saw someone who is loremaster with a particular expertise on Argonians and the dreugh. Have a search. I don't know the answer, myself- but I'm curious now!

they are the men like things that swim in the water.

They are redish and have long tendil type things for legs, and pinchers for hands.

It looks like they have armour on but I think it is there own natural shell.

You can get druegh wax off of them if you kill them.

Culturally, I believe they are socialiable between themselves. They always attack me in groups. Also seem like a highly advanced race.

Well there are Dreugh shields (Tribunal I think)...as for advanced, I suppose they are not unlike chimpanzees or gorillas as to men, they might have their own culture, use tools, teach their young but they hardly are on the same level as the other races of Tamriel.

There is basically everything that is known. What it really boils down to is that the Dreugh were a last-minute addition to Daggerfall to 'pep up' the aquatic creature variety, and that the only real lore behind them is that they're "the cursed remnants of a once-proud civilization." There's a little section about them in one of the 36 sermons, too.
