I always figured it was a maintenance droid that killed him, due to the fact you find that log on that lady's body next to a maintenance droid with battle markings all around and I remember another body being there
How could Malone use the vital chambers when Xerxes had taken them all offline?
I have always assumed Martin's audiolog was just one big error or something

I don't recall XERXES having any jurisdiction over the
Rickenbacker, though I could be mistaken. Malone could have survived the meson coil's destruction using a QBRM.
Malone was a OSA Agent, so he could have survived the encounter where he he to a shotgun blast to the stomach. He could have used quite a few Psionic tricks to cheat death (regeneration for one).
Perhaps his death in the
Von Braun's cargo hold was his final death, so to speak.
