(
http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=163783) The 101 best PC games ever chosen by PC Zone Magazine editors.
25. Diablo II
24. Call Of Duty
23. Baldur's Gate II: Shadows Of Amn (hmm, looks like their tastes in RPG aren't too bad.)
22. Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic
21. Fallout
20. Eve Online(um, they do seem to play a variety of RPGs. Did they play the System Shock series?)
19. Quake III: Arena
18. Operation Flashpoint
17. Company Of Heroes
16. Max Payne 2: The Fall Of Max Payne(You see, these people really like
atmospheric shooters. It would be such a shame, if they played Max Payne 2, but not SS2.)
15. World of Warcraft
14. Football Manager 2007
13. The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
12. Unreal Tournament 2004(I give up. System Shock 2 was really good, but how can one expect it to top UT 2004?:erm:)
11. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City(even GTA didn't make it to the top ten. I lost all of my hopes.)
10. The Secret Of Monkey Island
09. Battlefield 2
08. Doom(The Top Ten. Where only legendary titles belong. Uh...What is Battlefield 2 doing above UT 2004???)
07. System Shock 2(WHAT??:wot::wot::wot: WHAT IS THIS?? WHERE AM I? AM I IN SHODAN'S UNIVERSE?? Oh, no, I thought I killed her already.:tsktsk::tsktsk: )
(take a deep breath, let's see what the top 5 are.
It might just get even more shocking.)
06. Rome: Total War
05. Half-Life(This HAS to be the highest ranking FPS game on PC, right? Right???)
04. The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind
03. Civilization IV
02. Half-Life 2(THIS HAS to be the highest ranking FPS game on PC, right? Right???)
01. Deus Ex
I probably should post this thread in the Deus Ex forums instead, now that I already have a TTLG account.

well, hopefully a few people pick up the good games in the list and in the future those lists won't be that ridiculous. BF2 and HL2 under the top10 ? hl2 > hl1 ??? wtf were they smoking ? or not smoking.

Lists are lists. I'd never consider Max Payne 2 superior to the original Max Payne, or UT2004 better than the original Unreal Tournament (not to mention Unreal), just to give some examples. And how can System Shock not even be in that list?
I also wish you wouldn't post using so much bold, different font sizes, and colours. It makes my eyes bleed.
Edit: Just noticed that this list is almost three years old :p

There was a discussion about the latest PC Gamer list over in Gen Gaming (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130172) http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130172. ((
http://www.pcgamertop100.com/editorial/) Actual list here).
SS2 is in the top 20 which is nice but it's just the editor's opinions. They had a rule, at least in the magazine lists, of only including one entry from a series. That's probably why SS1 isn't present.
I look on a list like this as a summary of which games are worth checking out at some point. Some are definitely just fads - I'll be
very surprised if Mirror's Edge will still be in the equivalent list next year.
D'Arcy on 29/12/2009 at 16:45
They have HL and HL2, and also Fallout and Fallout 3 so that rule doesn't seem to apply.

You're right - I can almost understand Fallout / Fallout 3 being treated as two separate entities, but HL1 and HL2 are definitely part of the same series. I'll have to dig out last year's "Readers top 100" to see if they did the same thing when I get home.

Just for fun, I went through the list totting up my 'score'. I have played or got 38 of the 101 games. There are a few others (Dungeon Keeper, No One Lives Forever, Trackmania) where I have got or played other versions.
