Hey Guys,
I recently reinstalled Thief: Gold, applied some of the fixes mentioned in the FAQ, and have made it all the way to Return to the Cathedral without anything more than some glitches whenever I transition between the Game and the Menu. However, after finished all the requirements sans 1 Hammer Haunt, I discovered that he wasn't anywhere to be found. Figuring that he glitched through the world at some point, I restarted and finished about a third of it before realizing that now all the elevators were broken. I've since reloaded saves / restarted the mission / restarted the application multiple times, and the elevators are always broken. They constantly play their little gear spin animation without making any noise or responding to any button presses.
On the plus side, the game holds up surprisingly well and I'm cautiously optimistic about what Eidos Montreal with do with the series.
I'm running it on a laptop with Vista (Lenovo T61), an Intel Core 2 Duo, a Quadro NVS 140M, and 2 gigs of RAM.
The fixes I have installed are the skip_starting_checks line in user.cfg, the disabled Threading Optimization under the Nvidia Control Panel, and the core affinity perma-fix. Is there anything I've missed that might help with this?

That fixed the resolution glitch, but the elevators are still broken in the same way. I got super close to the end of the level the first time I played through, so I guess as a partial fix I can search for a save file that takes me straight to the end of the level. I'd try skipping, but the lack of loot leads to a depressing pattern of having to skip levels.
