Scots, I've just been looking into this again. About six months ago only Internode were doing their own ADSL2/2+ dslams because Telstra wasn't interested at all. Which is all very nice, but they're a South Australian company and were doing most of their work there.
Having checked again, both Internode ((
www.internode.on.net)) and iiNet ((
www.iinet.com.au)) have installed some ADSL2 capable dslams in Queensland; both have one in South Brisbane which MAY be your exchange, but I can't be sure. I would probably recommend Internode over iiNet because it seems you have to bundle your home phone with iiNet to either get ADSL2 in the first place or to get it at a reasonable price and Internode essentially has an unrivalled reputation in Aus internet.
Unfortunately, the easiest way to check if it's your exchange is to put your home line into the website form, which you may find difficult currently. ;) I'd give both of them a ring and tell them your address, or perhaps put your neighbour's number into the form.
Pricing:

Dude, with all the nappy-changing and showing off bub to cooing neighbours, he's going to need to be able to check his email, post on the forum and dawdle for three hours on IRC all in under 36 seconds flat.

Scots, I'd actually recommend iinet, they are a WA company, and I have been with them for years, and am very happy with the service. You dont have to do the whole phone + internet bundle, but their phone rates are good too, comparable to any in australia.
