Ok, so the recent BioShock videos, the Irrational team posting etc have drawn more people to the forums, with an additional 100-ish new members on top of the usual and an additional 4,000-ish posts.
The same things that drew people to the forums also drew people to our new (
http://www.bioshock-online.com) BioShock site with that seeing a tremendous 340% traffic increase to 850,000 hits up from 250,000. No way do I expect that to stay steady without more videos and Irrational team postings, but it is great news!
The BioShock site vanished from Google for a couple of days, I imagine that's as the Bots noticed 301 redirects from the old site to the new one and dropped it from the index to check.
We're now back up where we should be, at #1 - #5, depending on your location and the bank of servers you get sent to.
We've been linked from some nice big sites and forums, including Wikipedia, RPGDot, Something Awful, ElderScrolls.com, IGN, GameSpot, GameSpy, Evil Avatar, Penny Arcade etc, which is nice!
More of the same, please!

Clearly nipple pinching is the money search.

The fact that those particular search results point here clearly says something about the TTLG community.
But for the life of me, I can't figure out what. ;)

Speaking of which, I have yet to understand why a tiny (
http://www.bioshock.co.uk/) forum with only 1 registered user gets top place in my google results. May be because of an important weight put on the domain name...
BTW, David, it may be useful to put a direct link to the official Bioshock website from bioshock-online.com

That guy and his one man forum must be awfully lonley....

Is it actually better for TTLG to have increases in traffic? I understand that gains in community size are always good for the community itself, but how much of a strain on TTLG's wallet do these extra Bioshock visitors cause?
Gorgonseye on 2/10/2006 at 05:03
I figured that an increase in community usually was better for the wallet so one could charge more for commercial advertising due to the fact that with more people, more people would see the advertisements and thus would act as something to HELP increase the money in the TTLG wallet pocket book not only that but it means more people who might want to buy TTLG gear or donate...someone please correct me if I am wrong...

Believe me, if TTLG was earning money there'd be paychecks floating around. :D
Wait. Everyone else isn't getting paychecks are they? :weird:
