It might be even nicer if for each game section to have one of those alternative icons.
So all the thief sections have the thief icon and the system shock sections have a systemshock icon.
But i'd be happy with just the TTLG logo one too. :)

I just noticed that it's been added for the main TTLG forums page .. checking the others now.

:cheeky:
I couldn't sleep last night, so I was looking for (no-brainer) things to do.

But still, favicons aren't a no-brainer. At first it behaved rather weird. But now it works normally. :) (Clearing out the cache solved it.)
But I think the best way to code the favicon is:
PHP:
<link rel="Shortcut Icon" href="/forums/favicon.ico" type="image/x-icon" />
The "type" attribute makes sure that the browsers know that it's an icon and nothing else. (This keeps MSIE and maybe several other browsers from doing things on <em>their</em> own.)

On their own, you pedantic Netherlander.

I stand corrected. :D

And once again, I resurrect thee from the dead (or at least nearly so)... I just tinkered a bit again and, because I'm biased, produced even two Thief2X favicons. Personally, I think the one with the white background is more clearly distinguishable in small sizes, but that might be just me.

I like the white background as well. It would be nice to keep the colour scheme consistent between all of the favicons, but that's just my preference.
