Absorb Health: "when the effect ends, the victim regains the lost health, and the caster loses the borrowed health".
Nope. I'll quote from the manual (PC) pg31 under the title "Absorb" - "Changes to Health, Magika, and Fatigue are permanent."

Damaged Health, damaged anything stays damaged until the victim heals it.
That's right yes.
Drain Health on the other hand does this - "Temporarily lowers the value of a target's attributes, Health, Magicka, Fatigue, or skills. The magnitude is the units reduced each second of duration."

Sounds like i may have been missing out; my source has been the Enchant Item screen spell list. No offense, i just go with what i know; i will be testing Absorb, to be sure. Perhaps it was a late-production change and the enchant item listing wasn't corrected.

Races with resistance/immunity to Shock -
I played around with different spells to see which was the most effective against most all AI in the game. I wanted & did enchant a daedric tower shield with Shock/Weakness to Shock. This is the only one I've found that kills all non-magical creatures within a period of 6 sec. The Golden Saints and other high powered magical Ai are off limits with this weapon because of thier ability to 'reflect' your damage attempts -- you'll die really fast if you try it. I wanted to add the effect of 'paralyze' but the shield won't hold a charge that high. I also bought a spell with this added effect but the cast cost is so high I'll never be able to use it -- even made potions to boost my magic way above the norm but still failed to cast the spell. :( Of course this is a casting spell and not a melee weapon. The best weapon for killing, in my opinion, is umbra sword, like some, I was dissappointed with the weapon at first because I thought it would have served better with a damage effect. Never-the-less, it is the best weapon for soul trapping and killing Golden Saints, plus the melee damage effect is real high without the weight burden issue of a daedric weapon.

I enchanted my Daedric shortsword with absorb health 20-40 I think (can't remember off the top of my head)
I also have black hands dagger. Both are very awesome short blades weapons.
