ZB's response wasn't perhaps as succinct as 'Read the damn FAQ' would have been, but to be honest I preferred his version.

I thought ZylonBane was saying that because no one should want to turn off weapon degradation. Wasn't he?
Bjossi on 27/7/2007 at 00:37
The guy just wanted to tweak the degradation, not turn it off completely I think.
sNeaksieGarrett on 27/7/2007 at 05:26
You are correct bjossi. Turning it off would only subtract from the playability of System Shock 2. However, lowering it is reasonable I think because it seems they(guns) get worse pretty fast.:o
Note: Had I known that this was in the readme file of the patch, I wouldn't have posted this thread. Also, I don't see how this would be in the FAQ anyway, it seems like a minor detail that only a few people would think of. So excuse me for not checking.
Side note: Actually, to be honest, I never thought to check the FAQ on here.:o Haha:rolleyes: You may find me stupid for not thinking of checking the FAQ, but it just never occurred to me. Whatever, anyway, post #2 helped, and that gave me what I needed.

The guns degrade quickly because of a powerful entropy field as far as I know, hence the reason anti-entropy completely disables degradation of the guns.
Bjossi on 27/7/2007 at 15:08
I wasn't talking about any theories, just referring to the game.
And no, I don't have any idea what entropy is.
ZylonBane on 27/7/2007 at 15:41
Yes, you were talking about a theory, because there is absolutely nothing in-game about a "powerful entropy field".
Bjossi on 27/7/2007 at 15:50
I know better than you what my intentions were. I brought up the powerful entropy field being the reason for the degradation because the anti-entropy PSI power eliminates it completely.
ZylonBane on 27/7/2007 at 17:36
Now you don't even know what "theory" means.
