Is the dagger made reference to in the game fiction?
(looks to be made of stone)

That does it, reinstalling TDS. You just converted a non-believer, mister.
When's the new sword-including version of the Minimalist Project coming up?

I had been working on getting it in until I had some computer troubles late last week. A very bad stick of ram had been causing the trouble. How bad? Putting that bad stick in on its own caused the screen to flash off and on, the start menu to jam and finally a system crash. It was nasty.
I don't really have enough ram to run too much at the moment, so it likely won't be for a week or two, when I get a nice 1 gig stick of ram.

NH, but there won't be any blocks? It would give you a great advantage over the guards who can't jump back and block like in T1 & T2... or you'll have to work to make them!
Don't give it the dagger backstab animaton (silly blade-down rasing) but the blackjack like moves: slow-like overhead raising the blade, going to cut thru the guard's back :ebil: ... althought in Minimalist Project there isn't any animation, so...

Unless there were some blocking animations buried in the game somewhere, there really isn't any way for me to give them to Garrett I'm afraid....also, there is no button for blocking. Basically, we're stuck with a slash'n'hack sword. No interaction like the old games.

Next step: make this sword useful for cutting banners (that cover secret passages). Is it possible? :)
Crispy on 2/7/2005 at 07:07
Probably. You just have to make the banner react to the appropriate stim by changing its mesh or whatever.
Whether there are appropriate meshes for doing this is another story...

That reminds me of someone who (few weeks ago) said that he was able to make some book burn in T3Ed. How did he do it without custom meshes?

Flames don't need a custom mesh. They are particle emitter effects. I guess that this "someone" only attached flames to a book, but didn't really make a burned (as in "charred") book?

That someone was me (or I was at least one of those someones), All I did was make a script that emitted flames from the object for a short period of time when the object received a fire stim , then I killed the object. It would have been just as easy to switch the Static Mesh to one with a different material that was burned (you'd have to add that mesh, however).
