Lucky for George bin Bush it wasn't a shoe bomb. Maybe those will be making a comeback now. (Great - something else to relinquish before boarding a domestic flight...).
Tangentially, now that Bush is on his way out and won't be of as much day to day use for his financial masters, I wonder if he actually might be in more danger of assassination; not by genuine middle eastern operatives (although presenting them with golden opportunities would be the simplest means) but from within the cabal of military industrialists he presently serves.
Nothing like a high profile martyr to ensure the war on terror continues unabated and well funded for another generation or two.

Apparently the Iraqi Security Forces beat the shit out of the shoe thrower. Which seems totally uncalled for, considering that he didn't do any actual damage.

Not only that, but well within hearing distance and picked up by the video. During Bush's smarmy remarks of "That’s what people do in a free society, draw attention to themselves". Then again that type of person is little more than a well paid thug anyways so I'm sure they jump at the chance to pound the shit out of someone.
