We do drugs itt. - by The Alchemist

and so can a walk in the park/hill! I am not trying to be a "square" but ffs I really can't see the appeal of drugs at all - you take them, you see random freaky stuff (which you know is not real and is just random fire in your brain)... and?!? Unless you are an artist striving for inspiration (I admit that *some* of the best music has been created under influence) why even bother? You don't have to be mashed to appreciate the music the mashed artist created.
Maybe someone could tell me what is so great about artificially messing with your brain chemistry or point me in the direction of some reading material...

Life is much more fulfilling when you don't live by the process of trial and error. Just pretty much do what all the grown-ups tell you to do, and never bother to find out what it's like to go through ups and downs in your life.
Yes I get the sarcasm and what a load of crap – You should know fine well I never said that and it even betrays some of my points. Wow man, drugs are dodgy and illegal they MUST be fun, it is obviously THE MAN stopping us having a good time that is why they are generally frowned upon! You have to experience LIFE man, how can you know without trying it first dude!?! It is called trial and error – try LIVING nark! You realise that is what YOU sound like? As though drugs are the only way to experience trial and error in life – bullshit, narrow-minded and naïve. I have seen the effects in and around others and you think I am stupid enough that I should only trust my own first hand experience of taking drugs myself? I wonder if your attack on my view point is actually just a reflection of your own feelings of inferiority or insecurity.
"never bother to find out what it is like to go through ups and downs in your life" - have you even LIVED? Are your seriously letting drugs take credit for the ups and downs, highs and lows that people experience in life? If this really is your view I suggest that you need help.
My overarching point is that my life is full/expensive enough without me having to (pay to) mash my brain just to “experience” “new things” – I wonder how and why people can apparently become so bored with normal stimulus that they seek a completely artificial buzz – next time you are tripping set up a video camera and record yourself (I suppose that isn’t really possible if you go out clubbing) and then watch it when you come back down, are you telling me that you won’t look like a dribbling idiot? Maybe the anti drug campaign slogan should be – “fine do it if you want, I have better things to spend my hard earned cash on, but if you do go and get your brain pulped you could at least do something productive with it and channel any creative impulses you have into a worthwhile creation, and please wipe the drool from your mouth afterwards”

That's great, but plenty of people
can see the appeal - so why don't you cut out the preaching, k?
I mean, not for one moment would any of us try and stop you from following your religion because we "couldn't see the appeal", and God knows religion has killed
way more people than drugs. How about a bit of live and let live?

Just have a trusted person with you (just in case) and make sure the suff's not fucked up with any additives. Other than that, consider your own psyche... any problems, phobias, neuroses(?), etc. can and WILL surface eventually when messing with your mind (not only drugs, but meditation & similar stuff as well). Just be aware of the risks, but don't worry about them too much.

Maybe someone could tell me what is so great about punting a ball around a field
Maybe someone could tell me what is so great about driving a gas-guzzling lump of steel around
Maybe someone could tell me what is so great about making little sprites move around the screen
Maybe someone could tell me what is so great about reading words written by some old dead guy
Personal preference! It's just one way of getting some enjoyment out of life.

One more thing to consider: Do you have relatives with a history of psychosis/neurosis/behavioural disorder? You wouldn't want to find out the hard way how much of your unique personality is actually inherited, much the same way you have your mom's freckles or your granddads musical talent.

yeah, football, poetry and computer games so many lives screwed up by those activity. While I do agree that football can turn normally clever people into racist bastards

Kind of was my point there with the whole "fine do it if you want, I have better things to spend my hard earned cash on".

You left out the car example there. I wonder why that was.

any drug can be enjoyed in moderation.
I don't know much about drugs but what I've heard is that heroin dealers start people off on a little bit (very cheap amount) of heroin and gradually the users go up dosages until they are strongly addicted to it. Have other people heard the same?

buncha crap
Wow. Okay, first off, I never touched any drugs until I was out of college, so don't give me that crap about not knowing what it's like to live like a square. Secondly, you're a fucking idiot.
edit: Setting aside the fact your original post sounded like an amateur anti-drug ad, I wasn't even sure if you had a real point to be "betrayed" in the first place. Your 'advice' might have come in handy for someone who hasn't already experimented with weed and alcohol, provided you are an accomplished person who can demonstrate through personal example what success can be attained by sober determination alone, which wasn't the case here. If anything, you should've realized that you had no real perspectives to offer in this thread.
