I drink often but I smoke once every few months. So yeah I think I've got moderation under control. Why do you say I should stick to those though, any particular reason?

LSD Is not such a good idea. I agree with those who suggested something weaker. Acid can go MAJORLY wrong.

But why though, this doesn't help. "Stay away from drugs k" obviously hasnt worked so far why would it work now. Alcohol can go majorly wrong too depending on a lot of things. Can you be more specific?

lol, stay away from alcohol too.
I know far too many alcoholics (IMHO social and real addiction to both is MUCH more common that people are willing to admit - such as the whole of scottish/brittish youth culture) and pot heads (I have lived a sheltered and privilaged life, I knew very few junkies) to even give a second thought to this sort of rubbish - as though your god given :sly: natural brain chemistry isn't good enough, or as though there wasn't enough to experiance on this earth without the need to mash you head through substance abuse - that and everyone agrees that non prescribed (and even then prescribed in some instances) drug use/abuse to escape reality or problems is a no no. Which comic had the lines that he has no sympathy for people fighting withdrawal from substance abuse - people should know by now that it might give you a bit of a dicky tummy if you take to much lol). Here is a thought alchemist - try taking up a new hobbie instead of chasing an artifical buzz. - hell have you tried meditating or yoga?

Study the origins of acid and you will see quickly. The history is actually kind of interesting (well, boring until the CIA got ahold of it). I'd post a link but I cant seem to find one, the modern marvels (or some history channel documentary) on it was pretty interesting. And dont even think about suggesting that the history channel isnt a 100% accurate source for LSD information, all you need to know in life can be learned there.

Well, I've read the history insofar as (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LSD) wiki sees it, which I took with a grain of salt as per everything wiki, but this didn't really dissuade me. The CIA wanted to use it for interrogations but it didn work, the English wanted to use it for brainwashing, but that didnt work either. Ok.
And yes, I've tried meditating and yoga. Yoga is boring, I meditate when I want to relax, but I dont do either very often. I dont smoke weed ofter, like I said, once every few months, I'm hardly a pot head or a druggy of any type, I drink "often" in that im in college and thats what we do on weekends (and weekdays sometimes), but I'm responsible when it comes to how I slowly poison and destroy my body. I don't intend to become some sort of LSD fiend, and the thought of tripping out and seeing "walls melting, cracks appearing in people's faces ... eyes would run down cheeks, Salvador Dalí-type faces ... a flower would turn into a slug" sounds good to me, I wasn't so much asking for permission as advice.
Take it for granted that I'll be trying this drug pretty soon. Not that I don't appeciate your efforts to dissuade me I'm sure it's in my best interest but I am definitely at least going to try it once.

Hey! Saying that implies a nation with a severe inferiority complex. Maybe that explains my unwordly innocence. Its not the drugs that are the problem, its pretty much the problems behind the drugs. You can't sort out an addiction without first looking for the cause of it. Anyway a bit of experimentation is natural enough, just be sure you don't have any hangups to fall back on when your truly hooked.

Myself I'd advise extreme caution with LSD, Alch; it's freaking unpredictable. Some people it has no effect whatsoever other than the high, some can keep getting flashbacks for years and/or require mental treatment after just one dose. It doesn't take personal experience like this to arrive at a conclusion that getting an acid flashback while driving a car at high speed or doing anything else which requires fast reaction time to avoid injuries or death... The two examples I've just mentioned are of course extremes, there is a whole plethora of possible effects between them, but I believe possible dangers of acid are, even though not everyone gets affected by them, far greater than benefits. If you really have to do drugs, try something else.
The Alchemist on 9/8/2006 at 01:14
=/ Well are there any other good hallucinogens or are they all pretty much hardcore fuckups? I'm stil pretty dead set on acid, but if there's some sort of just as potent safer alternative I'm all ears.
