Try mushrooms instead, if your trip goes wrong LSD is a hell. Can't say my experience with LSD was very good, I heard later I did nothing but crying. Mushrooms are fun though, not too strong, just makes you laugh.

I read up on mushrooms some time ago at (
http://www.erowid.org/experiences/) Erowid and they all seemed to mention that if you happen to take too much you'll be vomitting out the contents of your stomach which is something I'd like to avoid. :P Anywho, I'm trying to stick to things my friends have done so that I can get advice/help from them. I wouldn't know where to begin with mushrooms.
My roommate prefers DXM over LSD because the trip was apparently less emotional/scary but taking DXM involves either chugging a bottle of cold medicine or an entire bottle of pills; not only is this an unenjoyable, unprecise method but there -is- a possible lethal overdose which is quite vague (between 50 and 500 mg/kg).
Oh well, count DXM out actually, he reacted positively to it but that's not always the case it seems: "Some find the effects of the drug to be immensely pleasurable, similar to a combination of opiates and hallucinogens, while others find that the drug produces dysphoria, panic, or dread."

Alchemist seems strangely edgy.

I'm more interested in: "The drug experience sometimes spurs long-term or even permanent changes in a user's personality and life perspective."
This would be enough to keep me away, if you're talking about drug-induced personality changes. I wouldn't want to try something that might possibly have negative and long-lasting side effects. Reflecting on the experience would of course be great, which is what I think you mean.
Don't wanna turn this into an anti-drug tirade (because it's not); you're just braver than I am.

Alch, as a seasoned drug pro I can advise you that, when you get your hands on some LSD, take as much of as you can. If the trip isn't strong enough you'll still be grounded in reality and you'll try to do something like cutting squares of flesh out of your arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm arm rm rm rm rm rm rm rm rm rm rm rm rm rm rm rm rm rm m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m m
