I tried extracting the sound libraries, OGG files played just fine, but WAV didn't play at all. I installed Xbox ADPCM plugin for Winamp, the same codec, tried playing the files in DXIW Sound Drone, but all to no success.

Should I use something else to hear the particular WAV files, or it's the problem with my machine?

I'm not sure there are WAV files for all of them - I think some of the wavs are just there as placeholders to make sure the oggs got compiled into the schema's properly, so not all of them have any sound data actually in the wav file.
I might be wrong - I haven't played much with the sound side of things, so it might be worth seeing if anyone else responds or experimenting on your own.

That wav file doesn't play on my machine either, and my m09zap1.wav is different. How did you extract it?
