Firstly, yes im a newbie to this site, and ive only had this pc for about two months, but i know enough to hold my own and DX was, nay, is my favourite game ever...for the PS2.
Sometimes i feel like the game was made specifically for me. its just so friggin great. DX for PC should be arriving at my door in a few days and i was wondering if there are any differences. besides graphics, to the PS2 version.
Im not too sure but i think the hacking interface is different.
one more thing...I know that u wont get to play as JC in the new one , and i know he makes an appearence in the game, but I just dont think it'l be the same, im sure it'l rock but...c'mon JC is the man!

IIRC the PS2 version was alot more action based + the a fair of the levels were streamlined (areas removed etc).

If it was the same would you really want to play? Nostalgia may sell, but it's not exactly the most interesting thing.

True, I would like the game to be as original as possible, but not at the expense of the games history. Remember Fighting Force?

Well, he *is* in the game, and considering how powerful you'd gotten by the end of the game, they'd have to ramp up the player's power to absurd levels if there'd be any character progression.

Didn't console DX have a vastly simplified inventory? Like, weapon type slots and stuff like that?

The augs where more of a resource than a crucial game element as you dont always have to use them
I would like to have the developers follow on from the Multiple endings of the previous game.
Take the Tenchu trilogy, The original developers killed off their main character in the first game, they decided to make a prequel to stick to the plot, Dead men dont kick ass.
But unfortunately i think they got an american company to make the third one, which has some nonsensical story about deep mystic ninja sleep, I switched off the PS2 at that point.

I think you tend to take the approach that your augs and skills will work for. I guess this goes for most games, but then again in DX you always have the option of gunning your way out of a building if you get found out while trying to be all clever and sneak in.
*shameless* Go get System Shock 2 after you finish DX on the PC.

wats the difference between DX on the pc
It's not dumbed down or as ugly. Same thing can be said for most PC to console ports.

D/Ld system shock2, doesnt run so well, a shame as I was lookin foward to it. i got to the bit where everything goes haywire. I saved it then when i went to go back to the game it crashed and wont load up from the save.
