And you're not deer sinews stretched in a spiderweb pattern over a hoop. What's your fucking point?

I think the point is dreamcatcher has reinvented himself as a saucy, above-it-all-but-still-gonna-tell-it-like-it-is no punch puller and he wants the internet to know!
PigLick on 12/3/2009 at 15:02
ah, but who is the REAL Fafhrd?

Some of the make up effects were horrible:-
Nixon, aged Silk Spectre I + Comedian.
Also, the Nixon impersonation was awful. The robbery scene from Point Break did Nixon better than this film.

Seriously! I mean, if Alan Moore, the INSANE VEGETARIAN LIBERAL (according to some parties) can portray Nixon with a degree of humanity and moderation, why can't a mainstream film? I'm not a huge Nixon fan, but I'm pretty sure his attitude towards nuclear war wasn't LET EM FLY I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY! Unless the point of the film was that he's gone completely batshit crazy by 1985 - but that's not properly expressed, if that is what they are going for.
Also, the makeup boggled me. Say what you want about the script and directing; it was clear that a LOT of effort went into the visual effects of the film, and most of them were quite good - yet Nixon's makeup looks like it was applied by somebody's mom before he went trick-or-treating.

Saw it. Thought it was OK. Great for first 3/4 perhaps, last 1/4 lacking. Unsure as to the benefit offered by ending over real ending. Still not really disappointed. This as someone who read the graphic novel several months ago for the first time (after hearing discussions about the movie.
