However there is a strange hallucinatory effect present in Red Forrest area even after you turn off the transmitter. In the middle of the map in the wood, if you cross some point you will be eventually affected by hallucinations of pseudodogs who can really hurt you (unlike the yellow glowing hallucinations of various creatures that you encounter on your first way to the brain scorcher). And the screen is getting blue instead of yellow - in any case it's a different kind of brain control effect than the normal one in Yantar and near the Brain Scorcher.
WTF?
Those are effects of special 'psycho-dogs'. The things can create hallucinations - images of creatures. If you kill a 'psycho-dog' the images he creates will go. I don't know how many those things live in Red Forest, I think at least 2.

The last time I killed one of those dogs (the one creating all the other projections, I mean), the game crashed :(

Same here, so I had to avoid them instead of clearing them out like I wanted.

That's exactly what I've been doing since then.

Psycho dogs, eh? I suppose there isn't any obvious reference to them in game dialogues or an explanation how they came to be in the game ?
Still it's funny... hallucinations hurting you...

They're not hallucinations. The 'alpha' dog is physically real, and the other ones are some sort of psychic projections. I'll have to check the encyclopedia near the end of the game to see if it has any entry concerning these creatures.
I never paid much attention to the Encyclopedia entries in previous games, but the other day I had some time to waste (basically, I was waiting for the day to come up before venturing into the Wild Territory) and read all the information on my PDA. Under the 'Local Folklore' there are several interesting stories, and a few of them mention some strange creature called the 'Illusionist'. I guess it's some creature that ended up not making it into the final game. I've also noticed an entry in the found PDAs for a 'Gordon's PDA'. This being Half-Life's Gordon Freeman. Pretty funny.

Gordon's PDA is the one you find in the collapsed tunnel in Wild Territory, near where you find the family rifle.

Thanks for that info, I wasn't sure of where did I find that PDA.

His body is there too. If you look at the picture it even looks like Dr. Freeman (to an extent). He's also the guy that was carrying "Big Ben", another little tid-bit I thought was pretty funny.

Actually he was carrying the desert eagle, big ben is in a box next to him.
