friends, I have been having some problems with the ddfix patch. I want thief in some form on my compter but would liek to run thief "out of the box".
my question is, does orignal thief or thief gold require the ddifx patch to fix the wahed out colors and screwed up sky? Does thief 1/gold even have the problem to begin with on more modern machines.
the hyper threading is not an issue for me but I just need some input it has been so long since I played the orginal, i know I had thief gold on an XP computer and I didn;t have the ddfix patch and I don;t remeber anything looking screwy . . .
any advice would be great.

by the way I have a dell 4600 with fx 5200 graphics and 2.8 ghz speed. however I am running ubuntu linux 8.04. thus I can run thief just fine but can;t really apply patches . . .

Thief 1 kind of always looked like that, to be honest. It still looks better with DDFix, though. Better than it looked originally.
It brings the renderer up to the quality of Thief 2 in terms of colour fidelity.
