I'm getting bored with Oblivion!!! I may not play it again until there's an expansion or a really really good, meaty mod comes along.
It's funny, when it came out I thought it was one of the greatest video games ever made. Now, after playing it almost every single day, all its warts are starting to show. The AI, repetitous and limited dialog ... the lifelessness. This is exactly what happened with Morrowind. I played Morrowind CONSTANTLY then one day I was instantly bored and never played it again. When I think about Morrowind now my thoughts are unkind--lots of phrases which use the word "steaming" come to mind--though I loved it to death for months.
This is really unfair of me.
I think the thing is these are open-ended games. They don't have a classic resolution after which the credits roll. My expectations are impossibly, ludicrously high. Seriously, you can only play games like these for so long. At some point I'm going to have seen and done just about everything and of course the game will become less compelling. I never thought for a second the game was lifeless when I began playing it. I probably never thought it about Morrowind either until long after I started playing it, and yet that is the impression Morrowind leaves me with when I think back on it.
With Morrowind I tried a few mods and didn't care for them at all. I hope there will be some mods for Oblivion I will enjoy because I really don't want to leave the world of Cyrodiil just yet. There's still the Thieves Guild I haven't done yet but the interest is just no longer there.
Oh well, that's all I wanted to say.

I'm of a similar mind. I'm no longer crazy about Oblivion, but I've yet to do everything (I haven't even started the DB missions...!) Still, after playing for so long, I've gotten bored. Usually I get bored of a game within a week though, so it's still much better than most everything else I've played.
Best bet is to leave Oblivion alone for a while and come back to it in a month or so. But make sure to install lots of way-cool mods before you start playing again!

Yeah, it's a lot more fun if you play slowly and play other games in between Oblivion sessions.

I've heard rumors that there's also a thing called "real life" that you can do when you're not playing Oblivion. I haven't tried it yet.

It does have photo-realistic graphics and effects.

Oh God.
Over Spring Break, I went to Florida. I knew I wouldn't be able to play Oblivion for a week, so the Friday before I left I played Oblivion for 26 hours straight. I was fine during the flight (I didn't sleep) but when I got to Florida, I looked around and kept mistaking real life for Oblivion.
Several times I remarked to my brother how well the water was done, or how they managed to get so many blades of grass moving at once. It was pretty terrible. After drinking a few black coffees, I was feeling better though.
