before you install Deus Ex: Invisible War.
I just uninstalled it (AFTER I instealled DE:IW), and the game didn't load anymore properly.
Fortunately, when I reinstalled the game, the save files were still there.
Just a warning, however -- this happens with a few games I've played in the past, too.

There are people who actually bought the full version after playing the demo?
Wow.
JonahFalcon on 3/12/2003 at 23:57
Yep - and am enjoying every second.

There are people who haven't learnt the lesson that the Deus Ex 1 demo taught us that a small demo cannot adequitely show the range of gameplay a Deus Ex game has?
Wow.

Umm, actually the DX1 demo did a really good job of representing how the full game would play. As did the DX2 demo, unfortunately for ISA.

Not really. The demo for Deus Ex taught us that operatives can't shoot straight, that skills dominate the game, augmentations are a useless flourish (and impossible to evaluate because we don't get an aug canister in the demo to use) and that the AI was ridiculous. I recall a lot of grumbling that the stealth options were very poor compared to Thief thanks to stupid AI choices. (All AI knowing where shots came from when one was hit, the quick reset to patrol behavior etc...)
Oh and we discovered if you didn't have a 3Dfx based card performance was terrible, around the 5 frames per second mark.
Not exactly dissimilar to what has been said recently.

You people should listen of ZylonBane. This statement obviously shows us that he's played the full game.
JonahFalcon on 4/12/2003 at 02:03
Yeah, ZylonBane's played the game. Sure. And I'm Prince Edward.

Kudos to JonahFalcon for the tip, and for forming an opinion based on say... the game as opposed to the demo which was obviously not the best choice for how to represent the game, especially for the PC (as one might conclude due to all the default.ini bits that were tweaked for the x-box).
Anyway, again, thanks for the tip.

Reports on the Ion Storm forum indicate that the demo was in fact perfectly representative of the full game. The rendering speed/quality, lack/presence of certain features, interface, physics, combat, augs, movement, textures, models, effects, bugs are all exactly as in the demo.
Is this too complicated for some of you to grasp?
