A Starcraft movie would have been better.

You know, I used to think it was a terrible idea, but then I saw that Tetris was getting a movie, nay, (
http://variety.com/2016/film/asia/tetris-movie-heads-for-china-shoot-1201776812/) a whole trilogy, even, so now when I see there's a video game movie coming up, I really can't tell whether it's some kind of elaborate performance art/postmodern irony/tax evasion scheme/all of the above.

I'm for whichever side favours proper spelling.
Seriously, though, a film about Warcraft 3-era Warcraft lore might be cool. Everything I've read about World of Warcraft lore seemed pretty awful, basically recycling all the characters as flat "bad guys" in side quests, resurrecting killed ones as necessary so that you can kill them again.

I looks like nonsense and I'm not going to see it.

Probably.
Maybe.
At some point.

I think fandom has made us dumb.
The film looks lame. If they made a Dishonored or Thief film that looked rubbish I wouldn't watch those either.
I play games. I've played WoW and I liked it (just didn't have the time for it). But that film? I'd be cringing the whole time.

The film looks lame.
The critics haven't been kind to it either. 32% on Metacritic and 25% on Rottentomatoes.
General consensus seems to be something "Only for those invested in the game".

It's a videogame movie. There's never been a good one. Never. Why does Hollywood keep bankrolling these!?

If watching Warcraft marks me a fan of Duncan Jones, so be it. Guilty as charged.
