So my friends and I worked our tails off over the weekend and made a metric butt-ton of these magnetic bookmarks:

http://katrichardson.com/pix/Finishbookmark01crp.jpgI'm on the hook to go to several conventions this year to promote the book and this nifty thing will be in the "goodie bags" but I figured, I should give a few to my old friends, first. Y'know... people like you guys who've put up with me for years (y'poor sods.)
So, anybody want a nifty magnetic bookmark? poke the (
http://katrichardson.com/news.html#bookmark) info link, or just send me an e-mail with your mailing address and I'll send you one that's been signed and dated. Oooooo.... (yeah, yeah... I know... stfu.)

What's the point of those things exactly?
I got one recently but threw it away pretty quickly in favor of a small peice of paper. Those things are just unwieldy and confuse you as to which page you stopped reading on. I HATE THEM
But thanks for the offer anyway. :)

Yeah, Ginger, they came out majorly nice thanks to the brilliant design of a certain cookie-man.
Sorry you don't care for them, Henke. I can barely stand to be without one, since I carry books around in my bag and lose the place all the time. But, different strokes and all....
Gotcha Chris and Fig. Going out tomorrow.

Well, the fact that they are magnetic and clamp down between the pages you're reading is even smarter than your average bookmark... so henke's talking rubbish!
And good on you, GBM. I like to hear of forumers helping each other out.

They are a little bulky, but I like 'em. And since these are different back and front, it's much easier to remember which page I stopped on. And the clever cookie man and I discovered that a standard American mass market paperback is 4" wide, so these are a hair under that, so you can even mark your line, if you want to turn the mark sideways on the page. It should work on UK format A and B paperbacks, too.

Oh yeah!?
Well HAVE FUN when you open your book again and can't figure out which page you left off on, the one on the left part of the bookmark or the one on the right? And by then you're so confused you have to start reading your 700-page book* all over again. Magnetic bookmarks are the most pointless invention EVER
Or, I'm just too stupid to know how to use em. HIGHLY UNKLIKELY AS IT MAY SEEM
*PigLick's Great Encyclopedia of CRAZY ANAL
edit: ok, the magnetic bookmark I used looked identical on both sides. Which, ofcourse, makes it harder to know where you left off. Stupid Unicef.
