v0.1 released, it includes the new water too.
v0.1 means just that :p it's early, it's not finished (it's around ~1 week of work). I havent bothered to convert everything to .dds files yet.

trail of blood looks bloody amazing. few notes:
-plant 147 has transparency issues when viewed against water (trail of blood).
-the new tree model (the one that wraps around the giant sequoia tree) floats in the air at one place (near the second pagan hut, trail of blood).
-the mushrooms, while looking really delicious, are a bit too big, I think.
-the new tree model (running interference) makes my FPS go down quite a bit (especially when more of those are in the view). this overhaul is clearly not meant for people with old pcs/gpus.

Thanks for the input, i dont notice any transparancy issue though. I'll fix the tree.
There's quite a lof of those mushrooms in that level, i made those before i knew about "0. Least Splits" in 3dstobin, i could make a new version where i use that, it will make them 2-3 times more performance friendly.
edit: maybe you mean the stalk on the plant, it's split at a few places, the leaves are all separate coming up from the ground. Might fix that so it looks like it's just from one plant.

Well despite my admittedly over-written (underthought) squabble on the env-map thing, I gotta say I like your stuff vurt. And early on, I said in concurrence with others how un-Thief like your shrubbery and assorted stones were. But I like your stuff for the same reason alotta people -- myself included, enjoy Sliptip's work: It's different, and perfectly made at a time when most output of the last three years was the occasional wonderfully crafted work of some veterans, and the decent output of first-timers (A few excluded, who know exactly who they are by me implying them).
So continue on as you are. I'd say this stuff isn't going to get any better. Worse? Well, I already said my crap about the env-maps, but that's like complaining about those Japanese voice synthesis machines in development. It's only a matter of time until you've got it right... For a rather finicky person like myself, for example. :p

when looking on the plant with the water as the background, the water is not rendered through the parts of the plant that are transparent.

You're right, i probably forgot to create a .mtl with force_alpha_key for that plant. I'll fix that for the next release.
