this is now undoubtedly my most anticipated game.
More so than the game being made by the guys who actually designed Bloodlines?

I think so, yes.

I hate to say it but ZB is right. We're probably never going to see an update of VTMB1. Witcher 3 proved you can multiplatform a new title that builds on the platform-exclusive game(s) that came before it and still sell like hotcakes, so they really have no reason to go back to the old game.

The rights would be all over the place. You'd have to make deals with Activision, Paradox. There maybe even be some residual Troika rights being held by a holding company somewhere.

It's fine. The games with the most character are always a little buggy like this and Stalker. I'd worry too much patching might sanitize it too much anyway.

Which game are you referring to, sorry. I take it there's another game being made by Bloodlines devs I'm unaware of (or have forgotten)?

I never played any Vampire games.
They're based on the tabletop RPG, right? A lot of the goth/metal crew I knew at uni played some sort of LARP version of this. I always found it a bit ott and it put me off the original game when people up in TTLG were talking about it.

While Bloodlines definitely had some of that melodramatic Anne Rice thing going, it also made fun of it: some of its vampires were self-important wannabe aristocrats, others were more into the goth vibe, and yet others were blue-collar vampires, fruitloops and all sorts of other characters. I'm not as much of a fan of Bloodlines as others (I loved the social interactions and choices, but the rest of the game did diminish its appeal for me), but it definitely doesn't just peddle one kind of vampire story and its writing is generally funnier and wittier than some of the more clichéd vampire fare out there.
