I got to try out the Vive with Tilt Brush yesterday, and if I was a VR fan before, I'm now officially a cult member. 360 degree room scale is amazingly immersive. Also, it's just so joyous showing it to someone else - in this case my wife. Watching her paint snowflakes in space was ten times better than trying it out myself.
This morning the Touch controllers arrived. Very much looking forward to trying them out myself this afternoon. SUPERHOT VR, here I come!
Edit: Fucking hell, this shit is intense! Sitting-down VR was cool, but this is a completely different ballpark. Henke, you gotta try out SUPERHOT VR...

Just spent a good hour or so in Rec Room for the first time. Elite has pretty much been my default VR thing, but I wanted to try something different. Super duper fun. Paintball is the most active of the minigames, and it's a pretty cool team shooter (though I found the teleport kind of disorienting. I kept getting turned around in my room and bumping into stuff. I think there's also some other weird brain thing going on with me where every time I teleported I thought I would be back in the center of my room, and obviously that's impossible).
There's this mechanic where you 'level up' and unlock more clothes and accessories, and they appear in this floating box in front of you that you pull a tab to open up, and at one point two guys got unlocked things at the same time, and two other guys (who sounded uncannily like Ben Schwartz (Jean Ralphio in Parks & Rec)) immediately ran up and started shouting 'DON'T OPEN IT! IT'S A BOMB DON'T OPEN IT! DON'T OPEN IT!' and I about died laughing.
The other cool minigame is '3D Charades' which is actually 3D Pictionary, and you get a weird goo gun and draw the stuff in the air, Tilt Brush style. Only flaw with it is that scoring is pretty much on the honour system. When somebody shouts the right guess you push a button to say they got it.
Overal 8/10, will Rec Room again.

In case any of the VR users here haven't heard already: there's a free VR Deus Ex thing on Steam. It basically allows you to view a few of Mankind Divided's locations and models in VR. Nothing amazing, but quite nifty - and the kind of VR extra that I'm hoping will come out more in the future. (I love the sense of scale you get in VR, and that's simply not there to the same extent on a regular screen.)
