Hello
I have a small question.
Anatoly said somethink about seting Von Braun´s course back to the Earth.
But he didn´t do it. Why?
Of course, I read from some email or note log that the Ship is wrapped in the biomass of The Many, but I think it is´n right reason.
P.S. Pls excuse my english, I am from Czech Republic.

I don't remember the factual reason (or even if there was one) but it's fun to speculate!
Perhaps he didn't manage to do it because ship controls were blocked by Many/Shodan? Perhaps he realized sending the Many towards EArth would mean Earth's destruction? Perhaps he wanted to set the ship towards earth.... but then again, he was already in his pajamas.

How early in the story did he say that? Before or after the presence of the Many was creating a mess?
I don't think he'd have said so before, since sending the Von Braun back to earth would create one hell of a mess on the entire planet; The Many: 1 / Humans: 0
But then the question appears, why didn't he? Maybe he couldn't because Shodan's plans of altering reality made the Many unable to control the starship.

The Many practically broke down the entire starship - just see all the mess you have to go through in engineering to get the engines back; apparently they didn't really care what happens to the ship. Seeing as they didn't show much interest in the VB, what if they simply couldn't do it? We know the person who devised the entire FTL thing was fighting against them, and we do not know wheter the others onboard capable of operating the FTL drive were killed or absorbed (for all what we know, the deranged Bronson might have shot them). And possibly without human interaction and the sim units used for biogenetic research (and later taken over by Shodan) they simply lacked the means to use the drive.

.... I've instructed the Von Braun to change course and return to Earth. Captain Diego is in complete accord with this decision....
As you can see Anatoly instructed Von Braun to change cours on 3 JUL.
Yeah, he maybe shouldn´t was able do it because he must fought against forces of resistance. But when he finished your own transformation(9 JUL) I think he was capable to defeat them. Then he can change ship course with assistance of The Many(and clear mess). XERXES will be cooperate because he is infected by The Many.
Of course, there could be a little problem: Maybe The Many can control our members on limited distances. Don´t do you know somethink about it?

She knew what was happening, but that simply made her too paranoid (almost to the level of insanity). She shot innocent people without any thought, afterall.
