I'm currently looking for a VoIP platform or program for work that does the following:
* The service should allow for one or several speakers that are heard by all attendees. (I imagine a sort of public conversation or interview at the beginning of an online session.)
* The audience can hear the speakers and post questions, although these are not automatically sent to all participants.
* Moderators see the Qs and pass them on to the speakers.
* Speakers should have the option of sharing their desktop or otherwise displaying material to the participants.
* Ideally (although this would be a bonus) you could record the whole thing: voice, displayed materials, questions coming in from the audience.
* Easily accessible, ideally no need for additional software - if this can be done via browser or some widespread software, all the better.
Since the cynical bastards at TTLG are usually a knowledgeable bunch, I thought I'd throw this question into the round. Any tips would be much appreciated!

You don't say "for free" so I'd recommend (
http://www.webex.com/) WebEx as being a decent way for doing everything you need as long as you're not needing dozens of viewers.

I've come across WebEx and it looks like a good option; the organisation I work for has a deal that includes the service, so right now it's at the top of my list.
Another one that I've come across today is TalkShoe, which looks good. Unfortunately our office computers have the weirdest, crappiest security setups, so I'm unable to watch their demo videos.

Not sure if it is what you want, but there is Teamspeak (free) and Mumble (free/open source). Both are small programs and are cross-platform. Both can handle lots of clients. I know TS has a text chat feature too. Haven't used them in a LONG time though. They're probably even better than they were back then.
