I wonder what framerates are like on that vivec mod...

I've had a bad experience with Vivec. It looks nice, but in the first time I went there I probably increased both my acrobatics and athletics skills by 60 each since I couldn't seem to find anything.

It's lazy. Vivec is just a lazy design.
I understand the need for budgeting time, but it still doesn't make up for the complete lack of any interest whatsoever.
Sure, it's quick to navigate considering how much there is, but doing quests there is tedious boredom.

I like that concept art better than the final design. The cantons are as different as can be in it (layout and scale).
There're too few practical uses for building large cities in a style other than Vivic, I think. That's what makes me feel housing is better handled there as opposed to having shacks everywhere. Little nooks inside leading to places that wouldn't make much sence in say the Nord style.
Caldera, like so many other towns, has just enough buildings to use the available kinds of shops and then a few homes. Vivic, though, has so much more reason to explore and find the unknown. It reminds me of the old Ultima games. I think U3 and U4 had some hide-aways like this.
That mod looks great. I'll have to try it.

I liked it... so simple. Each canton is just like the other...

The Vivec mod is alright, very low frame rates so I didn't stick with it very long. It had a good feel but a few glitchs which may or may not have been fixed in a later verison.

I kinda like vivec for it's armorers. I love killing the guards and selling armor to them. haha. very fun.

Well, I have to say Vivec would have been much cooler if it had been like the main city in Gothic 2. Not the visual style so much, but the fact it felt like an actual city, and not a spaceport.
Of course, Vivec would have had to have been four times the size of the city in Gothic 2 to get the same amount of stuff in there.

I hope that Ryushi is right; that this will take a bit of the pain out of visiting Vivec...
[REL] LGNPC: Vivec, Foreign Quarter, Real NPCs for a real worldThe Less Generic NPC Team brings you another installment of the long (and hopefully continually) running LGNPC series: Vivec, the Foreign Quarter version 0.50
This is not a beta, but a thoroughly polished and tested release. The reason that it is version 0.50 is because only one-half of the NPCs have been written. The project came to a stand-still last summer, but such a good start had been made on the Foreign Quarter it seemed a shame not to make it available (if only in part) to the community.
This mod includes:
• Completely unique dialogue for most topics for twenty-two of the NPCs in the Foreign Quarter of Vivec. Each NPC has a unique personality and interests.
• Many new topics and multiple responses are included that depend on race, gender, or choices of the player.
• Multiple responses when an NPC is asked about their own faction, depending on whether or not the player is a member, and if they have further responses if the player is the head of the faction.
• Eight NPCs offer new quests; some offer multiple quests or are on-going. No unbalanced rewards.
• Official quests have been scrupulously protected from changes introduced by this mod.
• Consult the included Readme file for a list of the affected NPCs and installation notes.

So if I use it then the game will be unaffected in any negative ways?
