Hey, at least we know where the next NRA rally will be now.
That wasn't funny.

Chances are they bought them legally.
Let's wait and see what the investigation yields before we start assuming things.
Edit:
I just talked to my wife. She tells me two more kids died as a result of the shooting.

Is that some lightning fast Wikipedia vandalism up there or are people actually saying these things?
Both comments have disappeared already from (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virginia_Tech_shootings) the wiki page, I'm guessing the anime one may have had some basis in a knee-jerk reality but the tiny penis one had to be some quick-fire vandalism.
The most often-cited rumour now is that his girlfriend cheated on him, or he suspected such, and that was what started the first shooting, one could speculate from that point on he must have either:
a) broken down completely
or b) been seeking the supposed cheater and just decided to take a whole lot of people on the way, becase he was committed

On the upside, you can bet your ass that some Virginians are re-considering their stance on gun control.

from my cold dead hands rite?
No you're right: it's not remotely funny. How many more kids have to die before you mongs on the other side of the pond realise that the "right to bear arms" is a right that should have died out when the British Empire did?

There are at this given moment, 639 million small arms (any rifle/handgun/shotgun/cannon up to 100mm) world wide. 220 million of those are in United States.
The genie is already out of the bottle, jackass.
You do realize that removing munitions would require a constitutional amendment ratified by 38 states. Then it would require an act of Congress to make firearms illegal. Then it would require the seizure of said weapons and the prosecution and imprisonment of said individuals who refuse. Who, may I remind you, number half the population of the United States.

That doesn't mean it's impossible. Guns have been phased out in other countries, albeit ones without so many of them. Even if this managed to get guns banned in a few more states it seems improbable that they would be legalised again. It might take a long time but eventually I'm sure it would be possible to make the rest follow suit. Then again, all it takes is one whacked out government to loosen up the laws again so perhaps you can't win, especially given the worth of the US arms industry.
Hmm, some of the text in the above post seemed to get smaller while I wrote this, interesting...

It appears you simply can't resist being that guy. Time for a long, hard look in the mirror, mate.

Like I said, let's wait and see what the investigation yields. He could've acquired the guns legally or illegally. We don't know yet.

Guns cannot be outright banned by any state; federal law is above state law and as the Constitution is the highest law in the United States, said state law would be unconstutional and be reversed fairly quickly.
Amendments now have ratification dates, if you do not have all 38 states by said date, it is dead in the water. It's 38 states to pass or no amendment at all, not selective incorporation.
Any lawmaker who suggests outright banning of firearms in the United States is committing politcal suicide.
The Second Amendment was put into place to prevent a tyrannic government. Seizures of military arsenals by the British near the start of the Revolutionary War were a primary reason for rebellion.
It ain't gonna happen.
I suggest you read this- (

Nunn v State 1846- "The right of the people to bear arms shall not be infringed." The right of the whole people, old and young, men, women and boys, and not militia only, to keep and bear arms of every description, and not such merely as are used by the militia, shall not be infringed, curtailed, or broken in upon, in the smallest degree; and all this for the important end to be attained: the rearing up and qualifying a well- regulated militia, so vitally necessary to the security of a free State."
