It's curious how we all like to be so individual but when someone comes around who lives his life less ordinary, we feel compelled to put him down or pass unsolicited advice. I'm totally including myself here. Anyway, a song for the all around extraordinary E-man.
Curious, indeed, isn't it?
Good song, thanks.

So basically what you're all saying here is that Enchantermon should ditch his ethics and discipline and just go get a BJ?
One of my old roommates actually said that to me once. Knowing my stance, he said, "Look, all I'm saying is, you need to go out, find a party, and get laid." It seems to be such a big deal and I don't know why.

10 bucks say he doesn't last 5 seconds come honeymoon night, though.
Who knows? If I don't, though, it can only get better later on.

The thought of no sex until marriage horrifies me: what if s/he's a terrible lay? Congratulations, you just condemned yourself to a lifetime of shit sex.
Not true. Great sex is something that can be learned. That's why people write books about it. Plus, I'd bet you that learning about one another, each other's likes and dislikes, where to touch, what turns her on, etc. can be just as intimate as when you practice what you've read.

. . . it's theoretically possible that the time of girls e-mon is interested in are also much more likely to be virgins. Admittedly a shaky hypothesis, but possible.
Though this may not always be the case, more than likely, they will be.

Well, when you've got two people sitting around for a couple of years waiting to get married so they can do more than just make out, you've got at least something there. Something that probably won't change the course of the relationship when they finally do get around to having sex. If anything, it'll probably cause them to grow closer together, as most people tend to do once they go post-coital.
Agreed.

Aren't you the one making a big deal out of it?

I'd say this topic of discussion has remarkable stamina
heh heh heh.
So in a nutshell- we think E-mon is making a big deal out of the fact that OTHER people make a big deal out of losing your virginity? Honestly the designation of virgin-popping-sex is really inconsequential, I can't even remember what it was like, it's just been plowed over by hours and hours and hours and hours and hours of awesome sex later.
I think the suggestion that losing your virginity will make it easier to get chicks later is tenuous because if you're a sensitive kind of guy the act of sex is really only an award or a bonus for getting to that point with a girl you care about, kind of like the award ceremony in Mario Kart 64 after you've just got 1st place in the Star Cup.
It's a celebration, probably one of the most amazingly awesome celebrations you could ever possibly have, but it's important that you have something to celebrate or else it'll start losing it's potency. That being said you can get away with partying every now and then just for shits, but don't do it too much or else you'll be sad and hollow like me.
Also, it never hurts to watch a lot of porn.

Sex is no fun anyway.
Who the fuck am I kidding? It never gets old. Seriously, get laid.
Be careful though, some gifts keep on giving.

... Like virginity is some PRECIOUS RESOURCE ...
It is and it isn't. I'm not necessarily saying he absolutely has to get married before he has sex, just that he should try to ensure his first experience is with someone he really cares about and would willingly marry if offered the chance.
It would be much more meaningful to him that way.

... simply a necessary speedbump to be passed so you can get on with actually enjoying sex rather than worrying about it.
Sex is like anything else in life. If you are unaccustomed to it, have never experienced it, you will be afraid of it to some extent. After the first time, however, any latent fear usually dissipates and you can easily get on with life and enjoy sex 'rather than worrying about it'.
It is, after all, supposed to be a natural function ...

Absolutely, I couldn't agree more. :) I just hope he comes back and lets us know how his 'problem' has played out.

I think the whole "you gotta not be a virgin as soon as humanly possible" is a terrible idea and generates a lot of bad situations for teens whose hormones are ravaging their body and common sense.
I knew a few people, women in particular, who've had bad first sexual experiences and went on to have extremely difficult sex lives due to (I'm guessing) psychological hang-ups and so forth.
I'm not talking about rape exclusively here, though the "I was so drunk I couldn't say no" mindset that seems prevalent in American culture can't be fucking healthy in addition to the "you're still a virgin???" /shockhorror, but more the random pump and dump scenarios that lower self-worth and set up a bad standard for the future.
I don't commend anyone "saving it for marriage" or due to religion or any other nonsense, but I do commend people who wait until they're with someone they actually give a shit about before sticking it in. I think this is probably especially important for the first time, you need to get to grips with the mechanics and actually learn how to do things and figure out what works for that particular person. The better that first experience is the more confident you'll be in future scenarios.
All that said, I think if two emotionally sound adults want to just hook up for the hell of it, it's not hurting anyone and is no big deal. I think that mentality is dangerous when talking about kids though.

unfortunately for most of ttlg masturbation does not count as losing your virginity
