I must say, this thread is a fountain of knowledge.

Could do with a diagram or two, maybe a few high resolution pictures.

Venn diagrams, please.

Yeah, just spouting with it.
I think some people are short-sighted. I mean people can make assumptions on other people's relationships based on their own. You just can't doom something as vastly as stating it's all going to be world of dissappointment.
THere's a whole side of personality and dynamics going on in what I have. So thats a good start.
I'm not going to fall apart with a shattered self-esteem if things don't work out so therefore I will be avoiding a lifetime of dissappointment and instead I've started a base of knowledge in what to try to avoid. I don't have a massive expectation of this anyway, but why can't a perfect relationship exist along with realising it's not going to be a bed of roses, and your going to have to work through alot of issues. The idea is for two people to stay together.
And have lots of sex.

have a meaningless and likely regrettable lay?
I've always wondered what "meaningless" sex means. Is it bad sex? Or sex without luuuuuuuurve?
Casual sex in itself can be satisfying, fun and enjoyable, and doesn't necessarily require "Till death do us part" -feelings. But like with other relationships, it doesn't happen with just anyone.

I reckon it's meanngless if the next morning all you want to do is get the hell out of there.
It could be mind-blowing, but you're likely going to be in for a dry spell after.

Dude you're 17, how much do you really think you know about relationships, love, and sex? I'm a beginner at this too in all fairness, it's not after quite a few relationships, serious ones, that you start to know what the fuck you're doing. And anyone older than me is going to say it's not until a few marriages that you know what you're doing, and I wouldn't doubt it.

I've been married going on 16 years and still know fuck all about relationships.
Also, jimjack is hereby banned from watching any more Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan movies.

So perhaps it's best not to take too much advice from anyone?

My god you're in for a world of disappointment.
Quoted for truth.
LOL, Jimjack gets my vote as the most clueless in this thread.
