Ok fixed the video problem... but I still don't have any sound. I tried a bunch of different things (I searched the entire forum)...
- I created a Res file and stuck the CFGs in there and then modified my resname_base d:\lglass\sshock2\res+Z:\shock line. Did nothing.
- I messed with in game sound options. Did nothing.
- I switched something in the cam file from sfx_device 2 to sfx_device 1 and back again. Did nothing.
- I tried the different compatibility options. Did nothing.
I've been working on this for about 2 hours... pretty frustrating, anyone got suggestions of something I haven't tried yet?

You are supposed to put the CRF files into the res folder, not CFGs. ;)

Judging from your upside down videos I'd make a wild guess and say you have the HOTU version. IIRC it comes with all the audio encoded as OGGs and you have to decode it back to WAVs. Read the manual.

heh, sounds like the HOTU version's not as sucky as it used to be. wonder if they included all the sound this time around.
still, we shouldn't be talkin' 'bout warez. no no.
