I am curious, how do you guys capture game play footage? I use OBS but it is not exactly the best, maybe you guys have a better way you could let me in on? or if you do use OBS what settings do you find the best?

I use Fraps to capture, then convert with Freemake Video Converter. Fraps capture pretty much raw footage so the file size is massive, but then I don't have to convert on the fly, which can be CPU heavy. With Freemake you can customize exactly how you want the output to be. Final product for me is approximately 10GB per hour of gameplay. YouTube butchers the quality during compression though, but the better quality you upload the better it ends up looking.

I think this may be the issue, I can't seem to get Youtube to be near what I upload to it.... maybe there is a specific format that works better.

What grafix card do you have? Cards since the geforce 10xx generation have in-built capturing.

after watching you buy gear i wish they had a buy all function, i got my money set high so i am able to buy everything, but having to buy one item at a time gets old :P

Agreed downwinder. Klatramus, I tried fraps and it does record much better but dang, I get 3 minutes per 4GB file and that's insane.

Do you know how to do it? I have a 1060
... nevermind , I found it and it is the same as OBS.... FRAPS is better at a cost.
