Hi, I posted at the Eidos forums about this and the only responses I got was to come here and ask.
While playing the Killing Time mission (the hammerite clocktower) and i noticed that if you save the game and then reload it at all during the mission, all of the animations in that level stop for good.
The gears that spin, the air vent thingys at the beginning of the level and the end of the first part by the checkpoint going to lower clocktower, all of them are stopped.
I have confirmed that it only happens after you save and then reload the game.
I am playing Thief3 on a brand new Gateway with vista, 8gb ram, quad core etc etc.
I have tried setting the affinity to one processor for steam so that thief loads with only one processor form the start, tried changing the affinity once the game was open, none of it helps.
I can make short video example of what happens if needed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading-

Hmm... probably wouldn't make any difference but are you playing 1.0 or 1.1? My 1.1 works fine (playing through that level right now actually)

you will have to buy it again if you want to stay legal (I agree that you should be able to enjoy the content in any way once you have paid for it once, unfortunately, the lawmakers are seeing things differently),the dvd version should be available on ebay,or you can try the bargain bin in the local game shop, either way,it should be really cheap..
