It's as clear a case of self-selection for those traits as could be. I'd bet most avid readers are also introverts, and probably not particularly agreeable. Let's start the anti-reading movement now, shall we?

Okay...I'll go first
Having been at a tech school for almost 3 years located only about 2 miles from the gorgeous Florida beaches, I have always been stunned at how many people honestly hardly even see the sun in the "sunshine" state. A large population of this school is over 21 and sits in a dormroom alone clicking a mouse on saturday night. Whats a weekend? an extended weeknight for World of Warcraft...I'm just saying...

The more time a person spent playing video games, the researchers found, the more likely they were to show three specific traits usually associated with Asperger's syndrome: neuroticism and a lack of extraversion and agreeableness.
I wouldn't have it any other way.

haha I saw the techno viking vid a little while ago, its now a catchphrase for some of my friends and me. That bit where he just starts dancing as he walks down the street, priceless.

It seems the article is with regards to addicts, in which case I'm tempted to think that there may be a validity in this, after all.
Although even 'healthy' people have the potential to play addictive games for prolonged periods of time, they are usually intervened by real-life priorities, whereas games *are* the priorities for the addict types that this article addresses.
It's annoying to see political hacks like Thompson always jump on findings like this, but I don't see why this correlation should be entirely disagreeable from an objective viewpoint.

Yes, because absolutely no videogames involve talking to people or creative problem-solving.

I'm not sure if it's a good idea to admit it, but I've actually tried playing CS with only my keyboard.
It seemed to work better in Duke Nukem 3D, for some reason.
