Video games don't prepare them for interacting with real people... You can't walk into a college interview and say that you are really good at playing Xbox.
Nor can you say "I like hanging out and getting drunk in a social setting", but I don't think that sets off the ever-sensitive autism alarm bells

The more time a person spent playing video games, the researchers found, the more likely they were to show three specific traits usually associated with Asperger's syndrome: neuroticism and a lack of extraversion and agreeableness.
Correlation does not imply causation, and those "symptoms" are caused by more than just Asperger's syndrome. Try living in the middle of nowhere with busy parents and a PC for ten years and see how many boxes you tick. This is more than just me crying about issues, though. I notice this woman has a book out. Bandwagoning ftw?

Treatment for Asperger's usually consists of improving social skills and breaking repetitive behavior, the very things video games discourage.
Yes, because absolutely no videogames involve talking to people or creative problem-solving.

what

I'm a pretty isolated and insociable person, but I'm pretty sure it's not because I played Gauntlet Legends too long when I was younger.
I'm pretty sure it's just because I'm a dick.

Seems I missed the viking note... will they replace pirates, ninjas, monkeys and robots as the "ROFLCOPTER LEGENDD" nerd trend, or merely be added to the existing pantheon?

Hm... Vikings v. Pirates v. Ninjas... I think we have our next rock paper scissors RTS game in the making.

In before you-know-who jumps on the bandwagon and blames videogames for cancer, AIDS, and 9/11.
This is just ridiculous.
'Hey, there's this thing that lots of kids are doing, but we don't really understand at all! Let's just blame all our social issues on it! I'm sure that's entirely accurate'
Edit: The two guys in the foreground of that picture in the article are playing CS:S, yet have two hands on the keyboard. What the hell?
