Hey there
Sorry to ask this if has allready been answered.. But i have gotten an old laptop with Windows 98 on it and then i wanted to see if SS2 worked on it, but it comes up with an error that my Video Card isn't supported.. Is there anything i can do ?

In the device manager it is listed as a Intel(R) 82830M Graphics controller

That controller is a piece of shit even by Intel's standards, but it shouldn't have problems running SS2 as far as I can tell. Try add safe_texture_manager to the cam.cfg file in your SS2 folder.

I have tried adding the safe_texture_manager to user.cfg but that dosn't work..

Make sure the file is called user.cfg, not user.cfg.txt.
A good way to make sure that isn't the case, is to uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types'. You find that option by opening any folder, click Tools, then Folder Options, and then View. There look for the extension option.

I know that.. I just tried adding the line to the cam.cfg instead of user.cfg but it didn't help either..

Well, if you are using the latest video drivers, then chances are you are screwed with that video controller.
