My husband installed the card and it's working pretty well. I just loaded up a TG mission, Augustine's Revenge, that I betatested and the colours aren't right in game. It's too purple/red. For instance a wooden barrel looks to be purple instead of brown and there's too much purple in the stone walls.

http://i47.tinypic.com/ae4ktu.jpgI haven't played much T2 yet but it seems to be a bit too purple too, though nothing near as obvious as it is in TG. Is there a way to adjust this? In dummy terms please because I know nothing about this. I tried reading the help stuff in the Catalyst Control centre and gave up as I don't understand half of it.

hmmm the way the textures look is very much like an un-ddfix'd thief exe...

I've never had to use ddfix on this computer but I can try installing it later to see if it corrects the problem.

ddfix solved the problem. Now the wood looks like it should. Thanks!

T2 used to only go dark if I alt+tabbed out without going to the menu but with my new card (X1950 Pro), it does it anytime I alt+tab which is a pain because I do that a lot to write notes, walkthroughs, lootlists, etc
Hmm ive seen this myself, I beleive its possibly down to the driver version. But that said I have seen weird things happen in thief that have been fixed by doing a reinstall of Thief, then ddfx, then the Ws patch.
Nw can you confirm gamma with the following configs:
Thief (vanilla) -
Thief + DDfix -
Thief + WS patch -
Thief + DDfix and WS patch -

Not sure what you mean about the gamma settings, Biker. Do you mean to uninstall them and then check the gamma settings as I reinstall?? I don't think that's probably the issue as I had the problem with TG before I installed the widescreen patch or ddfix. I had it with T2 before, with my older card but as I said, hitting Esc to get to the menu screen before alt+tabbing out stopped it from happening.
I think I'll try an older driver set first as that would be the easiest fix. Maybe after that, trying the Omega drivers tBM suggested. If that doesn't work, I'll try the "uninstall the whole mess then reinstall" route to see if that changes anything.
