Victoria from Thief is real. But it's a guy. - by Rogue Keeper

"Tree man 'who grew roots' may be cured. An Indonesian fisherman who feared that he would be killed by tree-like growths covering his body has been given hope of recovery by an American doctor - and Vitamin A. Dede, now 35, baffled medical experts when warty "roots" began growing out of his arms and feet after he cut his knee in a teenage accident."
This is one of the most bizarre viruses I've heard of, at least what can be judged from visible effects on the body.
So... dryades are real afterall. And they're not just chicks!

Well, good luck to this man. But he seems to be happy anyway. :erm:

Naw. He's a man cursed by pagan magic to become a treebeast.
But no, really, I hope he finds relief!

I notice you're referring to him as 'it'.

Heh, I just saw 'Victoria from Thief is real...' in the index, and I knew exactly what link it was, and that there was going to be something mentioning that it's a guy.
Oh, how I love I-Am-Bored.com.

I've seen it before, but it's still quite strange every time.... I just wonder how common the virus or bacteria or whatever is..
nickie on 2/12/2007 at 20:34
Well warts are very common, and here folks I'd like to highly recommend Tea Tree Oil for warts, veruccas etc.
My sister had some when she was a child and sold them for an old shilling I think. Whatever, they disappeared pretty much overnight a few days later. Spooky huh?
But according to that article, his problem is with his immune system which couldn't 'contain the warts' so they just kept growing.
Peanuckle on 10/12/2007 at 21:03
Damn. So if you have a compromised immune system and catch genital warts, it'll take over your whole body? That's freaky.
On the other hand, he could probably get a great job in the movie industry as some monster. Imagine the money they'd save on rubber costumes!
