I'm a complete noob with editing - I never really got started with Dromed but I'm determined to get my FM done with T3ED. I've played about with it a bit but I'm struggling with even some of the most basic stuff. :erg:
I did have a tutorial for newbies with Dromed which starts from scratch to show how to build a room with a door and a guard, etc. I was wondering if following something like that would still be good with T3ED (because I think I read a post soemwhere that said T3ED was very similar to Dromed but just looked different).
I went through the tutorials on the HTML that was posted but it seems to be for those who already have some knowledge. Otherwise, I'l keep playing around and seeing what happens but its not much fun when you don't even know how to create a new wall :erm:
I think what I'm asking - if someone could find the time - to do a tutorial even just to do the most basic stuff (unless the Dromed tutorial would work?).

I think Komag is working on a T3ed-specific tutorial, but remember the editor has only been out for 4 days!

There is under construction a Thief 3 wiki site with tutorials.

To mention, there is a T3ED tutorial which does assume you know how to navigate the editor to some extent. To start, there is an UNREAL tutorial which you will find useful for the basics, which is what you seem to need. You will find the link to the UNREAL tutorial in the Thief 3 Wiki.

No, following that DromEd tutorial (sounds like you're talking about Komag's tut) won't help with this editor. It is similar in some ways, but you probably won't see why until you're more familiar with both of them.
Komag is already working on a full tutorial for T3Ed. It'll be a couple months before it's available though, but I imagine it will be like his DromEd tut in that it will take you through the process from the beginning to the end of building a small mission.
'Till then the best way to learn is to keep digging through these threads for info and continue to practice using the editor.

ok, thanks. I don't mind hanging on for a few months and I'll keep playing about with it anyway until then with the info that's already available.
