Yeah I was lovin' the dark theme, now I'm back to this BRIGHT theme. My eyes!

You know, bugs aside, I can live with the rounded edges/generally shiny, Vista-y feel of the new forums if something could just be done about the cartoony quote box. It's really quite terrible, reminds me of the Gaia forums.

I just need less visual clutter. Yesterday's forums were pretty elegant compared to this. Still, it's a work in progress and David is doing a great job hammering away on this thing. I'm guessing we'll see some steps toward the old look--at least in regards to presentation and layout--as this weekend progresses.
My personal request list (sorry David!)
Thread Lists:
* Reinstate blue/purple text on lavender color scheme
* Remove extra "posted by" line--maybe fold back into "Thread Starter" column
Individual Threads:
* Individual post headlines shrunk to match size of post content font
* Line between post header and content reinstated
* "Reply to Button" moved back to right
* Cell row following each post somehow removed with the buttons moved elsewhere--right now it feels like there's too much negative space.
* Signatures not granted cell row below bottom of poster into cell
Other than that, onward and upward!

The tags look like this at the moment to me:

Was there be a space after the commas before? It is kind of tricky to read at the moment.
Editing posts messes up the colour scheme too :/

I seem to have a problem with the main font - first I thought its a not-well selected one, but then I saw on another screen shot how it should look - see comparison here:

I'm running SeaMonkey on Linux here.
edit: also, the line breaks in this post were done by the text-input field, not by me.
Similarly, the quick-edit has only enough width to cover this text while there is nearly the double available horizontal space. (Skimming through this thread had another report this behavior, though I don't know if it has been adressed)
edit2: heh - the quick edit fixed the line endings.
edit3: err... reloading the page has again extra line breaks. I'm lost.

IMHO wayyy too much eye candy! It fragments the the reading flow making reviewing the forum's threads much more difficult! :(
Unfortunately this is the same for me also - the forums are too busy and its harder to see. Can other forum profile skin options be added please so users have a choice of how the forum looks...?
The only issue I have with Vb4 is how busy the sections are now, the old plain pastel look has been replaced with the graduated colors for each of the threads which makes the text harder to read..

There's a grey (#E9E9E9) border left and right of the forums now, additionally to the forum's white border. That's 54px border on each side, quite a lot when you're viewing on a 1024px wide display.
